I guess dance and music, art, all these things don't create a genuine need/necessity. People can do without these things for survival. That is why, I think they are not viewed as professions that they should be paid for these enjoyments. But professions like doctors, bankers, engineers, businesses fulfill a need for the society because things won't flow without them. Society can't function without them.

You can't equate something done for pleasure and something done to fulfill a genuine need. That is why it is comparatively much easier to earn with these professions rather than as artists. Not everyone will need to dance or learn dance. Many people seek relaxation/peace from other things. But all your necessities, your house needs to be built, food needs to be packaged, money needs to be invested. These has to be done by somebody and society is willing to pay for these 'professions'.

That seems to be the same with other enjoyments like TV, movies, etc, although they are not the classical stuff. They are not a necessity.

That is why I never looked as dance as a career. If it did, that will be more stressful for my dance. My other job is enough to enable me to dance without the worry of money.
