the university of madras offers an MA in bharatanatyam and MGR JANAKI COLLEGE in chennai offers a 5 year integrated course in NATYA ( dance and theatre)
you can join after 12th standard in high school or after any BA in any subject
you cannot go directly for a PHd unless you have done an M Phil or at least more than 2 years on post graduate work
Univerity of bombay
University of Baroda
Rabindra Bharati University in Calcutta
they all offer special studies and degrees in dance
