If a senior dancer or a guru is mediocre, it has to be said. What does it mean that i am disrespecting a senior guru?!The Narasimhacharis were disappointing at the IDA . Not Vasantalakshmi, but her husband. He was singing on the recorded track off key and his dancing was tired She was lovely as always. So what if I say that his dancing was bad!
The point is that the writers of today are so shallow in their visual vocabulary and all gurus have become holy cows. Saying someone's dance is bad is not disrespecting the gurus as people. It is only commenting on what they performed on that day. Far better to say it like it is than lying and then talking behind their backs! But then, maybe all dancers want to hear lies and have shallow sutudents prostrate before them in a saccharine show of resepct.
