dear narthaki readers
i am surprised and delighted at the outpouring of comments just after well known feminist writer and scholar vasanthi sankaranarayanan commented on the new dance drama EKANTA SEETA. why are we not open to criticism? why this fauning over gurus and their work. if the work is good.. say so.. it is disappointing.. then say so also.. besides.. to the question "WHO IS THIS VASANTHI SANKARANARAYANAN" i answer that "she is an expert on feminist cinema of kerala and performance traditions of south india.. she is NOT a dance critic.. thank god.. and so she does not have to please any one dancer or guru.. NARTHAKI is the catalyst for discussion and sometimes emotional outbursts.. but vasanthi is eminently qualified to comment on this dance drama that I have not seen yet.. but have heard very unfavourable reports from several people who saw it in chennai.

so i say again.. to all those who are writing under pseudonyms and aliases.. stop fauning and being servile.. the age of falling at gurus feet is long gone.. there is only good dancing and bad dancing.. there is no room for mediocrity ..
