I agree- wholeheartedly! And it gets really frustrating when a voice of dissent is deleted just because the status-quo doesn't "like to hear/read such things".

And the entire BN teaching so called "schools" here in the US, especially in certain Mid Western states goes so unchecked and the "teachers" just run rampant on the families, manipulating them, even lying about what they are doing but are completely unqualified towards teaching.

When will there be a general consensus and qualification check on these "gurus" who are charging excessive fees for not only lessons, but my gosh, what about costumes and jewelry for a performance that the student will only be in for about 15-30min?!

$$ has become the pressing factor for some of these "teachers" and they will blatantly lie about their background, esp if they are from Indian and no one can check the validity of their training, etc. And then they just are consistently supported by the Indian communities within their residence simply because- with no background checks, valid CV's and qualifications for teaching the dance form.

It's really quite a money-making racket here in the states, and many an Indian family seems all to ready to just keep their children with these "gurus" even when they themselves know absolutely zero about the dance form. It seems to be supported due to only it's cultural tradtion vs having anything to do with dance- peroid!
