Many artists choose to travel to gain that experience firsthand. They read intensively and travel to their subject matters to experience for themselves what the subject matter means to them. They collate the experiences and put them into their creations for their audiences. Never once, they negate the history and culture of their subject matters. Initiation International 2008 - Wanderings of an Artist aims to gather the wealth of knowledge and experience from artists, who travel regularly to cultures beyond their shores. This wealth of knowledge and experience will manifest themselves in their art works, both in performing arts or other forms of contemporary art. Please kindly submit a short performance rationale (500 words) detailing your travel experiences and your project concept. You are welcome to submit pictures and video recordings. Please kindly bundle your proposal, with a short biography, and email them to i2@thefunstage.org Closing date: 15th April 2008 Note: Your performance should be less than 60 minutes in length and performed by 2 or less artists. If your proposal is selected, you will receive a letter of invitation from the festival. The festival will not cover your airfare(s) to Singapore but we will provide a small per-diem and accommodations. Please also note that a fee of S$150 ($50 non refundable registration fees and $100 refundable deposit, is required to confirm your participation. Contact:
