What is this course about? 
- This course is designed to help you develop as a dancer, choreographer and performance artiste. 
- Created by internationally renowned dance Guru & choreographer Dr Maya Rao (Founder –Director), the course is based on her experiences & interactions in the studios & theatres of Europe, Russia, USA, U.K., and South America combined with her research of the various classical and indigenous dance forms of India. 
  
What will I study?  
The comprehensive syllabus includes: 
  • Art & history of choreography 
  • Aesthetics-Indian & western 
  • Natya Shastra 
  • Mime & movement 
  • Stage design & lighting 
  • Music design 
  • Costume design 
  • Classical & Contemporary Technique, Indian martial arts, Folk dance orientation, 
  • Allied arts in context 
  • Pedagogy 
  • Arts management 
  
Also 
  • Students will have the opportunity to meet & interact with choreographers/ companies, theatre, arts & media personalities. 
  • Field work & internships with prominent artists 
Eligibility 
This course makes the study of choreography accessible/ available to a wider age group 
• Dance knowledge a must ( in any style- classical, folk, modern)  
•  Minimum academic qualification-  Grade 12/  2nd PUC  
  
  
What can I do after the course?  
  • Further studies in Dance/ choreography / Dramaturgy
  • Go into fields such as research, dance therapy, dance education, movement analysis 
  • Past students teach at important academic, cultural institutions 
  • Some are renowned choreographers and performers  internationally

International students: 1,500 USD
