arangetram of Shreyasi Jain, disciple of Geeta Chandran - at 6 pm.,
at India International Centre, New Delhi. Chief Guest: Lt. Governor of
Delhi, Shri Vijai Kapoor. Guests of Honour: Padma Bhushan Raja and
Radha Reddy. Shreyasi is the grand daughter of Shri Ramesh Chandra, Publisher
and Managing Editor of the Times of India, and daughter of Lalita and Shailesh
Jain. Since the tender age of four, when she began formal schooling, Shreyasi
simultaneously began learning Bharatanatyam under Geeta Chandran's tutelage
at Natya Vriksha. After learning the art form for nearly a decade,
she presented her debut performance. Shreyasi has also been involved in
many of the cultural activities at Natya Vriksha and has been part of the
Natya Vriksha Dance Company. |
