This September, in New York, there will be a magnificent "happening" that has never occurred before. The Producers of Dance Festival of India 2008 (http://www.dfi08.org) , supported by lead sponsor The Arch, Inc., cordially invites you, your family & friends attention to be a part of our exquisite Art exhibition and the historical performance to be held at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, September 20th 2008.

The six leading Indian classical dance troupes will meet at this one place to perform their specialty Indian classical dance styles.

b)  Kalaripayattu - Jasmine Simhalan Co's Kria kalari - Kerala
c)  Kathak - Kathak Kendra - New Delhi
d)  Kuchipudi - Shri Vempati Chinasatyam's Kuchupidi Arts Academy - Chennai
e)  Manipuri – Jawaharlal Nehru Manipuri Dance Academy - Imphal
f)  Odissi – Ramli Ibrahim's Sutra Dance Theater - Malaysia

The Dance Festival of India 2008 cordially invites you to its art show at the New York Academy of Art from September 19th to 21st to celebrate union of visual arts and performing arts. As part of ten days of concerts, cultural exchange, and community outreach programs in New York. It has commissioned New York-based contemporary artist Pratima Naithani (www.pratimanaithani.com) to create this art show especially for the occasion, one that presents a unique view of Indian culture.

On behalf of The ARCH, I wish to thank you for the continual support you have extended all these years. We are extremely happy of the excellent success we have achieved in our endeavors over the last nine (9) years in placing Indian arts on the world pedestal. Your support has always enabled our successful endeavors to be on par with similar efforts in other nations.     

The ARCH runs a state-of-the-art work, exhibition and performance space in midtown Manhattan. Bright and lively, the Arch space is ideal for dance, music, theater, rehearsals and performance arts events. ARCH offers classes in classical Indian dance, namely Bharatanatyam, Odissi, and Kathak, and other dance forms such as Salsa, Mamba, Flamenco, African, Hip-Hop, Modern and Tap.  In addition, Yoga, GyrokinesisTM, GyrotonicTM, Pilates, Meditation and other fitness programs are held regularly. We offer Indian music lessons in Hindustani and Carnatic music that are taught by veteran vocal coaches who are legendary artists from India. We also organize art exhibitions, concerts and performances. 
  

This year, we are most fortunate to have been blessed with the great opportunity to produce DANCE FESTIVAL OF INDIA 2008 on September 20, 2008 at the most prestigious venue in New York - CARNEGIE HALL. This is a first-of-its-kind happening in the history of New York that is taking place in this most prestigious venue. You can be a part of this history making event.
