inDANCE presents
BOX
March 18 to 20, 2010 Toronto, Canada

January 22, 2010

The highlight of Toronto based inDANCE's 2010 spring season is its Canadian premiere of the critically acclaimed mixed-bill retrospective, BOX.

Following sold-out performances in New York City in April 2009, BOX will be presented in Toronto at the Fleck Dance Theatre from March 18 to 20, 2010.

Calibrating classical and postmodern aesthetics, inDANCE generates a provocative global view of contemporary Indian dance. BOX features a company of accomplished and daring dancers performing seven pieces that reprise inDANCE's choreographic innovations over the past decade. BOX is a retrospective in celebration of inDANCE's ten-year anniversary. All seven pieces in BOX have been carefully selected from the company's diverse repertory, highlighting its spectacular palette of creative choreography, virtuosic performance, research, lighting, costume and visual design. With BOX, revisit some of inDANCE's most loved works: Bollywood Hopscotch, Box, Inverse, Mea Culpa, Purnima/Full Moon, The Frog Princess and Uma.

Informed by a contemporary, urban sensibility, inDANCE's bold works make a unique contribution to Canada's dance ecology.
