Earth'n beat is an attempt to present new cross cultural music in an exhilarating fusion of exciting rhythms and exotic sounds from round the globe. It tries to explore the world of music with modern consciousness and traditional aesthetics culminating in a celebration of harmony of spirit and mind.

Earth'n Beat tries to look beyond its roots for inspiration by interacting with master musicians of many other world music traditions. Be it Irish or African, Classical or funk, Earth’n Beat tries to trace back and relate the melody or technique to ancient classical Indian music.

Earth'n Beat started as an experimental journey exploring different forms of music around the world. Being trained classical musicians, there was an instinctive urge to relate the newly learnt music to our age old tradition. That was when magic unfolded.
Each melody and scale found interesting reflections in classical Indian music.

Founded by Bangalore based composer Praveen D Rao and versatile violinist Jyothsna, Earth'n Beat premiered at the Saddlers Wells Theatre in London along with playback singer Hariharan. It has performed at various festivals around the globe which includes the Sangeetham festival, London, Birmingham Arts fest 2006, The Liverpool Tourism Awards Ceremony 2006, Milapfest, The Birmingham Fest, The Bangalore Festival, The Delhi International Arts Festival etc. to mention a few.

The core members:
Keyboards, Vocals and percussions: Praveen D Rao
 Flute: Raghunandan Ramakrishna
 Sitar and Mandolin: Suma Rani
 Tabla and Electronic percussion: Pradyumna
Vocals: Manoj, Vyasaraja and Pooja Rao

Jog Falls: One of E'n B signature pieces whose main refrain is a fast paced syncopation decorated with harmonies derived form the western music technique. Based on Raga Jog and Raga Natai, this piano and flute oriented composition creates enough space for improvisation. "Maha Ganapathim" a popular classical composition is also embedded within.

Irish Dance: Another interesting composition inspired from an Irish tune and routed to Carnatic Raga Karna Ranjani. The composition mainly features the flute, mandolin and vocals.

Latino: A guitar based composition inspired by Spanish music. The dialogue between Indian melodic syllables and the Sol-fa syllables receive special applause in every show.

Shanti Mantra: A choir based composition involving mantras from the ancient Vedas to invoke world peace and harmony.

Apart from many compositions in this league, E'n B performs many 18th and 19th century compositions of Indian Classical music.

One of the main intentions of E'n B was to initiate and inspire the youth into classical contemporary music. At present there are more than 35 musicians training and performing along with the core group. There is also a choir wing named Antardhwani which focuses on vocal technique. Most of the members of Earth'n Beat are well trained in classical music and are experienced in conducting music appreciation workshops be it young children or academics.
