Dance Creations presents March 9, 2010 Sampradaya Dance Creations brings
together the best in South Asian dance DanceIntense Toronto 2010, a specialized, two-week dance training and residency program for emerging South Asian dancers, will come to life at York University from July 5 to July 17, 2010. Proudly produced by Sampradaya Dance Creations for a second year, DanceIntense will bring together acclaimed International and Canadian dance professionals and a talented group of selected emerging artists for an enriching dance experience. The DanceIntense program offers a
unique opportunity for emerging dancers, ranging in age from 19 to 35 years
old, from Canada, the United States and Singapore to work with accomplished
Master Teachers and dance professionals to share their knowledge, skill
and passion for two weeks of intense body conditioning, choreography and
dance-related workshops. DanceIntense truly is an intense
experience. From the moment the audition notice is posted looking for the
most committed and talented dancers - there are only 20 coveted spots available
to work with some of the best Master Teachers globally. From morning to
night, dancers will be put to the test both physically and mentally - challenged
at every turn to learn new dance concepts, movements and choreography from
the most seasoned professionals. Together, they will share common struggles
and exhilarating triumphs among like-minded peers and instructors for this
important dance training program. Sampradaya Dance Creations is a Canadian, Mississauga-based professional dance company specializing in the creation and production of classical and contemporary dance works based in the tradition of Bharatanatyam, a South Asian dance form. Founded in 1990 by Lata Pada, accomplished dancer and choreographer, the Company continues to inspire audiences with annual productions produced locally and internationally while continuing to nurture the talents of emerging young dancers.
