Choreography by Anitha Guha,  coupled with exceptional lyrics and music by Neyveli Santhanagopalan and P.R. Venkatasubramanian presented by students of Bharathanjali and guest artistes makes this production a must watch.

The production was presented in USA in April 2014 for Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival as part of the Mahabharatha series. It was performed with students of various gurus and Carnatic musicians. Anitha Guha had the wonderful opportunity of working along with senior gurus CV Chandrasekhar, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Rhadha, Savitri Jagannatha Rao and other teachers of her generation, Jayanthi Subramaniam, Narthaki Nataraj and Kishore Mosalikanti.

In India it was successfully premiered for Shanmuganandha Sabha, Mumbai, with her own students and two guest artistes Renjith, disciple of CV Chandrasekhar, as Mookasura (choreographed by himself) and Shruthi Priya, disciple of J Suryanarayana Murthy. Sincere thanks to MVN Murthy for Kuchipudi and Lakshmi Kannan for Kathak inputs.

Bharathanjali Trust presents VANA VIRAATA VIJAYAM in two parts for the Chennai Music and Dance Season 2014-2015 for almost all the sabhas with about 30 students. The production opens with the Pancha Pandavas and Draupadi embarking on their 13 year exile (Vana Parvam) and finishes with the final year of exile which the Pandavas spend incognito (Virata Parvam).

About Anitha Guha
Anitha Guha, one of the most popular Bharatanatyam non performing teachers of Chennai, had her initial exposure to this art form from her mother Karthiyayini Natesan, and later underwent training under Guru. Sri. Govindarajan Pillai. She also had the fortune of being under the guidance of Radha Krishnan and Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayanth for a very brief period. She learns Carnatic music from Smt. B. Meenakshi who specializes in Oothukadu compositions.

Anitha founded Bharathanjali in 1989. She is blessed with a wonderful talent of teaching Bharathanatyam to youngsters, and has the uncanny ability to bring out the best in each and every student. Many of her students have blossomed into solo performers and have been performing in India and abroad, winning awards, titles and scholarships. She has carved a niche for herself with several, much lauded mythological Nritya Natakams and thematic dance productions which have been performed in sabhas all over India. A cast of young students with fine dancing technique, a dramatic atmosphere and remarkable choreography have made her productions unique and appealing to one and all. She has around 20 Nrithya Natakams to her credit.
