Through this unique theme based festival, she has presented over 500 artistes to the Bangalore audience in thematic ballets. With IDA, she encourages groups led by senior Gurus as well as those established by upcoming artistes to share stage and partake in the creative spirit of the Arts.

IDA 2015: Eka Aneka
Date: 22nd November 2015
Venue: ADA Rangamandira, JC Road, Bangalore
Time: 6pm

The theme being Eka Aneka this year, we celebrate through dance and poetry, the myriad forms of the single Supreme Consciousness. In the many avatars of The Lord, in the duality of Maya, in the five elements that emanate and culminate in a single form and in the various forces that create, nurture and disseminate: Our souls must acknowledge the existence of the ‘many’ in order to transcend to the Singularity –that which is within and that which encompasses.

IDA 2015 will be presided over by senior Guru Lalitha Srinivasan (Director- Nupura School of Bharatanatyam).

The Leela Sekhar Memorial Award was instituted last year in memory of Leela Sekhar, Founder- Chairperson of the International Dance Alliance, India. A musician par excellence, she was instrumental in creating several avenues for artistes- musicians and dancers. She propagated a wholesome interaction and exchange between senior performers, Gurus and upcoming artistes. In her memory, the award is being given this year to a person who has tirelessly contributed to the promotion of the arts.

The Awardee: Churchill Pandian, a journalist, director and producer, is a name that has come to be associated integrally with classical dance and music.
