Gati Summer Dance Residency 2015 presents new dance propositions by emerging choreographers. This is an informal sharing of six culminating propositions from the 7th edition of Gati Summer Dance Residency (GSDR). The 10-week residency, held between 1 June and 9 August 2015, invited six choreographers to propose, conceptualize and realize their own choreographic works with feedback and assistance from established practitioners in the field of performance-making.
The residents of GSDR 2015 are Anjali Nair (Bangalore), Manju Sharma (Delhi), Meghna Bharadwaj (Delhi), Abu Nayeem (Dhaka), Archana Kumar (Bangalore) & Shreya Kumar (Delhi).
The mentors of GSDR 2015 include Sankar Venkateswaran (IND), Takao Kawaguchi (JPN), Padmini Chettur (IND), Marina Collard (UK), Preethi Athreya (IND), Deepak Kurki Shivaswamy (IND), Zuleikha Chaudhari (IND), Anurupa Roy (IND), Sound Mentors- Priya Sen (IND) & Sajid Akbar (IND) and Peer Mentor Mallika Taneja (IND).
GSDR 2015 is supported by Japan Foundation, Royal Norwegian Embassy, Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan, Sangeet Natak Akademi, British Council, Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Environics Trust and GSDR 2015 patrons Brinda Dutt, Anita Ratnam / Arangham Trust, Bunty Chand, Sanjoy Roy, Mukesh Panika, Mohit Satyanand, Sanjna Kapoor, Vivan Sundaram & Vivek Sahni.

Gati Dance Forum is New Delhi-based independent arts organization that works in the field of contemporary dance in India. One of the primary aims of the organization is to foster avenues and opportunities for dancers to interact, exchange ideas and engage with each other; while simultaneously providing an enabling environment to support these processes. Gatiís body of pioneering and innovative projects attempt to address areas as diverse as pedagogy, creation, research, outreach and arts advocacy and policy.
Established in 2009, Gati Summer Dance Residency has been conceived of as a critical space that supports the development of emerging choreographers in South Asia and their engagement with the art of dance-making. GSDR provides each resident-choreographer with financial support, individual mentoring, rehearsal space, production assistance, and final performance.
The GSDR has a strong alumina of 31 residents from the last 6 editions.
