Nritya Vishwa: World Dance Day

Every year World Dance Day is celebrated at MAHAGAMI with an aim to spread the message of our dance heritage and glorify the spirit of dance. A theme or aspect that can be connected with dance is selected every year so as to bring a new dimension of dance amongst the students and rasikas. This year, Mahagami will be hosting 4 unique events:

21 April, 7pm, Rukmini Sabhagriha
Exploring the 8 time-zones through
Kathak in dialogue with Raaga, Taal and Kavya

22 April, 10am, Mahagami
Talks on Dance-related streams 
Research / Light Design / Journalism

28 & 29 April, 10am - 6pm, Rukmini Sabhagriha
Festival of Films on Indian Classical & Contemporary Dance
Inaugurated by Adoor Gopalakrishnan
Curated by Kunal Ray & Parwati Dutta

Entry is free for all the events. This is a golden opportunity for all learners and rasikas to dwell in the dance world and look at the innumerable dimensions of this Nritya Vishwa!

The 20th SADHANA Gurukul Camp begins from 1 May and will end with a presentation by the Sadhakas on 14 May. Registrations are open for the same (age limit: 5 - 50 years). Also workshops on Dhrupad, Yoga, Kalaripayattu (Kerala martial art), Kathak, Odissi, Theatre, Painting, Pottery, etc are being conducted between 2-10 May 2018. All interested may contact Mahagami office for registrations.
