Guru Debaprasad said, “Odissi began from solo forms like Devadasi Dance in Jagannath temple, Gotipua, Akhada pilla, Sangita Sakhi Nata and Sabda Nrutya. These are solo dance forms which are closely connected with Odissi which we can say are past forms or mother form of Odissi.”
Following Guruji’s path Tridhara forwards the legacy of solo (Ekaika). In this third season of Ekaika of Diptimayee Sahu, Tridhara presents rare solo choreography of Guru Debaprasad Das -  Navarasa and Ashtapadi from Gita Govinda, and specially prepared three new solo choreographies.

Ditpimayee Sahu (Odissi dancer)
As one of the courageous few who dared to choose dance as a career, Diptimayee has a lot to offer in the field of dance. She has emerged as a dancer of substance with elegant body lines. Under Guru Gajendra Panda’s keen and imaginative tutelage, she is a very committed Odissi dancer trained to possess the power to connect with the audience. What sets Diptimayee apart are her innate sense of poise and precision.  Aware of her inherent capabilities she could push beyond limitations. She has also excelled as a solo dancer making her presence felt.

Diptimayee, in this third season of EKAIKA, brings in the choreography of Guru Debaprasad Das and her Guru Gajendra Panda in a blend of maturity and playfulness, mystery and engagement. She has performed solo in festivals in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. She has also performed in front of Gajapati Maharaja of Puri - Shri Dibyasingh Dev, Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha - Sri Naveen Patnaik, Honorable Prime Minister of India - Sri Narendra Modi, Honorable Chief Minister of AP - Sri Chandrababu Naidu, Honorable High commissioner of India in Malaysia and Singapore. She received National Talent Search Scholarship from CCRT, Govt. of India. She is qualified for “B” grade of Doordarshan. She completed her Masters Degree in Odissi dance and is continuing her B.Ed.
