13th Guru Debaprasad Award Festival 2019
Rabindra Mandap, 6.30pm

Tridhara is a pioneering institution which treasurers and upholds the unique style of Late Guru Debaprasad Das (founder father of Odissi dance and also Tridhara). The unique flavour of this gharana stems from the genius of Debaprasad Das, who amalgamated a variety of tribal and folk dance elements with the traditional Odissi. Guruji died in the prime of his life, and to his disciples - he died young. Tridhara, inspired by him, is now in the care of Guru Gajendra Panda, who almost single-handedly runs the efficient choreographing, performing and teaching institution.
For the last twelve years, Tridhara under the leadership of Guru Gajendra Panda is organising the Guru Debaprasad Award Festival to honour distinguished artistes and personalities in the field of performing arts for their immense contribution in enriching the tradition and culture of our country and respect their untiring efforts. Side by side, promising young talents are also encouraged by the Debaprasad Prativa Awards for their dedication to Odissi and interest in carrying forward the tradition of the land.
The 13th Guru Debaprasad Award Festival is being held at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar, from the 28th to 30th October 2019, at 6.30pm.The birth anniversary of Guru Debaprasad Das is celebrated by Tridhara on the 28th of October 2019 in collaboration with Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre, Bhubaneswar.
