Posted by Vasanthi Sankaranayaranan's review of recent Madras Players production on June 16, 2005 at 11:15:26:

I write what I feel. That is what I felt about that particular production of Madras Players. I do agree with Mr. Vinod that Mr. P.C.Ramakrishnan is a veteran actor of Madras Players. But, Mr. Vinod's assumption that a veteran actor's acting should not be subjected to what he calls "harsh" criticism is not acceptable. It is because he is a veteran actor and I have got great regard for his acting that I felt that this particular production is way below my expectation of his acting. Questions such as "Where can we draw a
line? " etc have no meaning at all. It is the author's tendency to censor even news print media criticism. In any case, I myself have mentioned in my article that the whole hall full of viewers gave standing ovation to Ram's performance. So, how would it matter if one person found this appreciation rather exaggerated and out of place? I have succinctly given my analysis of the performance and then only came to whatever conclusion I came to. I wish Mr. Vinod would read the whole criticism and then give his point by point objections rather than catching on to one word and getting "emotional" about. I do not think my criticism was intended to be demolishing the particular actor. But, I was just hoping there would be a dialogue rather than emotional exhibitions bordering on illogical thought processes.
