Dance is physically demanding besides being a very expensive hobby to take up if you intend to do it professionally. I admire your dynamism and inspiration, and I think you should really take it up if you indeed feel that you are both mentally prepared and willing to spend money after you reach a certain stage of your learning. You are also young! 27 is not old... and if you're physically fit, I don't see why not.
My advice to you (as a dancer and a professional) is to take to classes at the Kuchipudi Arts Academy in the morning, and then work as a software professional in the afternoons and/or evenings. You can get a feel for dance and see if it's for you at this stage of your life.
And dont forget... you can always go back to your software career at any time if dance does not work out.
