i start with the adavus, after a couple of classes, i start teaching them the most simplest items i have. while i am doing it, i teach in detail, including the theory, what all r included in the item- the mudras, the adavus, the jatis,tala, raga, composer, history- if any. like that, it keeps them glued and they learn. i am sure many of you donot agree to this method of teaching, but with the number of choices we are left with and not spoing the tradition, this is something i came up with.
