Someone who cannot see the beauty in "Rationalism" or "Materialism" has no biz talking about ethereal or divine beauty. Maybe, before you comment on these philosophical schools of thought, you should do some research. Guess what? Rationalism is very much an Indian school of thought: read Charuvaak.

And by the way, there was no mention of "rational" meaning (as opposed to what? I suppose "irrational" meaning!) in my post. Also, note how you managed to twist a general statement into one that pertains to "American Culture" (or whatever misinformed conception you have of it) only. USA is a complex country, much like India, with very complex economic, political and sociological processes at work. It is easy to demonize whatever stereotypical notions you have of these countries. But understanding even a little bit about these countries requires a lot of compassion and love in your heart. From your narrow outlook, I can only say that you perhaps don't even understand India. You appear so insecure about your Indian-ness that you HAVE TO vilify another culture to feel good.

I hate to be pedantic: that would make me no different from you, but please try not to be such a frog in the well!
