It was nice to see comments from people like dancer and Subha. Thanks guys. Personally, yes, I have been literally been asked what caste I belong to when being chosen to perform. This has not happened just once. So I am not generalizing from a single experience. Of course, I cannot pinpoint who did that to me, but lets just say that some of them were "prestigious" and well-known dancers and sabha secretaries in singara Chennai.
As to people who started talking ill of me because I used an example, remember this. There is and there can never be one single best person in a field. Even Isaac Newton had someone refute his claims (Einstein). You can (take whichever side you want and )choose to believe that Newton was the best because you werent smart enough to be exposed to the theory of relativity or because you sat in the well refusing to read anyone who refuted Newton. That is simply your loss. Keep it up!!! Your "knowledge" will continue to "grow"!!!
P.S.: I do like Medha Hari and I think she is a very talented dancer. But as to training and choreography, as someone mentioned, I believe the recognition has to go to the guru.
