The dominance of wealth and caste in dance!

I have struggled immensely in the field of Bharatanatyam for many years, until I learned that if you do not have the wealthy backing of affluent parents/guru or stand alone in the field plus be a non-brahmin, there is no way you can come up in this field. It saddens me immensely that this beautiful art form is dominated by the so-called "upper class" or the dominant "cream" that remains in command of the field.
I can bet that there are many dancers who can dance equal to or better than some of the new upcoming dancers like Medha Hari (I am not offending anyone. Just using an example). But why do they not get the attention/fame from people? Simply because they dont have the resources to advertise and perform the way the "top" dancers do. This is not a bitter email of a loser dancer, but a call for awareness that a dance form as glorious as this still has its thresholds, biases and shirtcomings.
The requirements/qualities of a good dancer in today's world does not require only Javaha, stiratvam etc. but also to hail from an affluent background. It also helps if he/she (mostly she) is a brahmin!
