Dr. Vasundhara Doraiswamy's program at the Murugan Temple of North America  (Lanham, MD) on the 29th of August was a feast for the eyes. Her opening item (Melaprapti in Raagamalika) was rendered stupendously. This was followed by "Gajavadana  Karuna Sadana" in Sriranjani Raaga that left no doubts that Lord Ganesha was indeed the artiste's lifeline (Abhinaya was that engaging). Vasundhara's footwork and movements for the Padavarna piece was as beautiful as the Raaga, Amritavarshini. "Mahadeva Shiva Shambo" in Revati showed us all the forms of Shiva rendered with excellent interpretation and expression.  Finally the last two pieces, "Jaya Durge" in Misra Anand Raaga and Thillana in Raaga Shiva Shakti were rendered with vigor and grace.

Vasundhara Doraiswamy's five day work shop in collaboration with the Srishti School of Dance was filled with Yoga and rich dancing experience for the children. As a parent whose child was enriched by the five day camp, I can say with fervor that it was a great learning experience for the children, especially to learn from a guru of such caliber. Her expertise in Yoga enhanced the students’ potential to perform better in future.
