Salute to
the Nation
January 28, 2010  On
the 26th of January, India saw its rebirth as a republic nation and on
this day, Nritarutya came together to salute the Tricolour at Chitrakala
Parishath, Bangalore. It was a concept Mayuri Upadhya visualized - a unique
idea of Ashoka Chakra and its uninterrupted spin. Only sooner, this vision
took a bigger view.
This time amalgamating movement experiment with a dance sculpture, its video and photograph documentation, Nritarutya made yet another mixed media production. The process of 'Vande Mataram' as a dance production held its belief in the spirit with which every Indian lives, the absolute love and respect for the country. To Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's composition of Vande Mataram, Nritarutya added Indian spirit and essence with its movement aesthetics! Sathya BG's
choreography brought out the pride an Indian feels as the Tricolour unfurls,
which was executed by dancers Hemanth, Rohan Raj, Devi and Karthik.
