The Place Prize

The Place Prize is Europe's largest and most prestigious choreography competition. Sponsored by Bloomberg, it attracts massive press interest and this year, The Place Prize won the Critics' Choice award for Dance in 2006 Time Out Live Awards. The competition has been named as Best New Event in the awards which were announced in the Time Out Magazine on 22 February 2006. Twenty works are commissioned for The Place Prize, each commissioned choreographer receives the chance to compete in front of an international audience.

Out of over 200 applications, Nina Rajarani was one of the choreographers to get a place in the semi-finals and thus to create a new commission as one of the 20. Her work, Quick! took both the audience and the jury by storm and was voted into the finals!

Nina Rajarani is not only an internationally acclaimed dancer, she is also a choreographer who woos her audience time after time. She runs a successful touring company, SRISHTI Nina Rajarani Dance Creations as well as 3 hugely successful dance schools, in Harrow, Reading and Warwick. SRISHTI Nina Rajarani Dance Creations tours the UK and Europe two seasons per year and attracts audiences from every culture. The company always tours with live musicians and presents productions of impeccable professionalism.

The company tours with the full length evening of this production in Spring 07. The tour kicks off at The Playbox Theatre in Warwick on the 1st of February and will tour until the 1st of April.
